Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is best known for its international relief and development work. How to explain that MCC also does prison visitation and much more? How about on a bicycle? Ron Janzen, ED of MCC Manitoba, recently toured the 16 thrift stores in Manitoba that raise funds for MCC. Restorative justice is important, vital work that helps to build safer communities but it’s difficult to explain. Ron took the time to meet with volunteers and donors, and to tell the stories.
I was pleased to read about Ron’s cycling trip in the Canadian Mennonite. It raised funds, energized staff and built community. That’s fundraising at its best.
